Through the month of September, three of James Madison Redd’s poems, “You’ll Get Them Anyway,” “Boy’s Night Out,” and “Our Fall Trip,” are featured online in the poetry and arts website Subliminal Interiors. A monthly literary magazine, Subliminal Interiors focuses on work that comments on the religious and spiritual. While Redd’s work does not exemplify traditional religious values, religious families and spiritual concerns do often appear in his writing.
“You’ll Get Them Anyway” is a brief poem showing the distance between parents and their children, “Boy’s Night Out,” shows the fear a small child can feel for disobeying parents, and “Our Fall Trip” is a mood poem, focusing on a changing landscape.
